It can be used in engine cooling systems to reduce scaling and corrosion, and in irons, lava lamps and air-conditioning units. Typical applications also include microelectronics, printed circuit boards, instrument manufacture, pharmacy and washing liquids. The purity of de-ionised water can exceed that of distilled water.
