Self amalgamating tape is ethylene propylene rubber tape that fuses to itself when stretched and wrapped. It is used to waterproof, protect against corrosion and insulate cable joints, repairs and electrical components. It contains no glue or adhesive. Once wrapped around wires, cables or devices, the layers bond together by self-fusing into a seamless covering.
Peel off the thin plastic backing before use, because the tape will not fuse with it in place. The tape sticks only to itself, so wrap with a 50% overlap and keep the tape clean and free of grease. All sizes are 0.5mm thick. Multi-pack savings are available on larger orders.
- Forms a strong, seamless layer that is waterproof and electrically insulating
- Resistant to UV, moisture and chemicals
- Removes cleanly from the surface underneath, as there is no gum
